Wonderful Condo in Beautiful Setting - 5 Stars!!

My husband and I traveled with my parents to Maui for 5 days and then to Kauai for 5 days. While in Kauai, we stayed at Poipu Crater #13 - we absolutely loved it! The setting was so quiet and peaceful. It was lush and felt like we were in our own little jungle. We loved having breakfast and coffee on the lanai - it felt so private and secluded! The condo was nicely remodeled and had everything you could ever need for a wonderful trip - coffee maker, spices, utensils, laundry soap, towels, boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers, sunscreen, bugspray...the list goes on and on. The rooms even had stand alone fans for added comfort. The beds were comfortable and there was ample space for everyone. My mom and I enjoyed many nice walks around the area. It is located very close to the "Greenbelt" walking path that takes you to Shipwreck Beach and down to Brenneke's Beach/Poipu Beach. Such a beautiful area! The day we were scheduled to check out, we had a late flight. I emailed Erick and asked if we could have a late checkout, and he let us without even charging us extra! It was also nice to briefly meet Erick while we were there, as they were staying in a nearby condo. He really went above and beyond. Would recommend this condo, definitely! Just wish I could review this on big sites like VRBO so the word could get out how great of a place this was! 5 stars!!

Poipu Crater is a beautiful setting for these nice Villas!

My wife and I stayed in Poipu Crater Villa #14 for 10 days in March of 2018. The neighborhood in and around the crater is very beautiful and very well maintained! We felt that the whole Poipu area was very clean and safe. There was a single parking space available right next to the villa which is a nice bonus considering how hard it can be to find free parking in some locations in Hawaii. The Villa was clean and comfortable inside. The ceiling fans were appreciated each day! We enjoyed sitting in the lanai on most evenings and during the one rainy day that we had when we were there. The Poipu crater swimming pool area was clean and very well equipped. The villa #14 was appointed very well with a good supply of towels, beach towels, laundry facility, dishes and kitchen appliances. It even had a few sizes of coolers available which was nice for taking water and snacks with us each day as we traveled around the island. We found that we could hear the foot steps of the people using the stairs in the attached villa. It’s just the nature of that type of building. And we had a few neighbors across the street that were loud talkers when they were outside in their lanai. But they did quiet down around 10pm which is when the Villa’s quiet time started. I suspect they were visitors and not full time residents because they weren’t being real considerate to the other residents of which many live there full time. We didn’t hear any of the nearby residents…they were always quiet! Another big plus that we noticed in Poipu Crater was the absence of chickens and roosters which are so plentiful in Kauai. I don’t know how they do that without any fences around the crater but it was noticeable and very much appreciated. Well done! We found the deli next to Poipu Beach to be nice, clean and good food. We picked up snacks there a few times. A bonus that we were lucky to see on a few occasions was the wildlife at the Poipu beach. More then once there were turtles and seals resting up on the sandy beach. I was also very impressed with the local volunteers who assist with roping off the area around the turtle and seals in order to keep the curious tourists from getting too close to these precious animals. We loved hearing the tropical birds wherever we went around Poipu and the whole island. So we really enjoyed staying in the Poipu Crater Villas. I would recommend it for quiet couples and quiet families. For those who want to party loudly, I would recommend for them to look elsewhere. Thanks Erick for sharing your nice villa with us. 😊

Great Place

My recent stay at this Poipu crater condo villa 13 was amazing. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean wth plenty of room for the family. It’s a perfect location close to everything on the island. The pool and clubhouse areas were great, a quiet and beautiful place to spend a few hours. The property managers were so easy to work with. They even let me extend my stay by a couple of nights at the last minute. This was by far my best vacation ever. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely love to return there.

We just returned from a week at Poipu Crater. The villa was great! Perfect for the four of us. We loved having the kitchen. It was an easy walk to the beach and felt slightly off the beaten path, which we all liked. I'd definitely recommend the place!

Villa #27 was perfect for our group of 4 adults. The condo is very well appointed and equipped with everything we needed. Erick was very easy to work with too.

The villa was all we could have hoped for . The resort is very well maintained and self contained what with pool, BBQ and rec room. It is very quiet away from the rush of all other traffic. The condo was perfect for us and we have no hesitation in recommending it to others. Eric and Kathy were most helpful the few times we needed anything out of the ordinary and our refund cheque arrived very promptly. Aloha

Oasis

We have been to Kauai several times and have stayed at different places every time. We will no longer look for places to stay when we return, because we have found an oasis within the oasis of Kauai. The crater is within walking distance of Poipu Beach, but secluded, quiet, and lush. Coming back to villa 14 at the end of the day was like coming home. Big, comfortable, king size bed in the master bedroom, beautifully remodeled and fully equipped kitchen, relaxing lanai with great bird watching and all the amenities you would need---beach towels and chairs, snorkel gear, coolers, beach umbrella, etc. The grounds were well kept and it was a short walk to the pool and BBQ area. Booking with Erick was an easy and pleasant experience.

Great Find

Poipu Crater was the great condo experience in Poipu that we were hoping for! Very nice space, plenty of fundamentals were available to us (beach towels, kitchen gadgets, laundry, BBQs, etc.) and convenient location. Only things that could have been improved: a better mattress in the master bedroom and wifi in the condo (not just the courtyard or from neighbors).

Thanks for your kind words Jenny and I have contacted the owners of #29 about your concern about the mattress, as I have never received any complaints on this matter. This unit has WiFi, but it was down, while you were there, but it is up and running again. Kind regards, Erick van Elk.

Have stayed at villa #29 twice now. Each visit was met with a beautifully clean fully equipped unit that has every necessity of home and then some. This particular unit is only steps away from the pool, bbq area and tennis courts. The view off the lanai is absolutely gorgeous, you will see all the beautiful vegetation, the spectacular colors, banana trees, it really is breathtaking and so peaceful. This is a very well maintained quiet complex so if you are looking for some quiet R&R, this is the place!! It is also a short drive and/or walk to the Poipu beach, various restaurants and many other beautiful sites you will likely want to see. I highly recommend this particular unit (I understand it has recently been renovated as well) you will have all the comforts of home with that Hawaiian flare and again, close vicinity to the amenities of this complex. I will most definitely be booking this villa time and time again.

Glad we chose to stay here

We really enjoyed staying at this condo. Love the setting of Poipu Crater - all the flowers and mature plants in the crater, and the riot of bird noise in the early morning - almost like staying in a botanical garden. The condos are spaced out more than others we saw in the Poipu area, and the more crowded surroundings are out of sight here. #6 was in a good location - afternoon shade, and higher up in the crater than some others (so maybe it catches more breeze). It may feel warm and stuffy when you first arrive, but just open all the window louvers and it will feel fine in a few minutes. However, I would leave windows partly open when you go out so it's comfortable when you return. The layout is good for families - the master bedroom suite is upstairs for more privacy. The condo was well stocked with basic supplies. Having the laundry in the place was a great convenience. The swimming pool and BBQ area was good, but the tennis court was in poor shape. I enjoyed spending time out on the lanai with a good book. I recommend renting from Erick V. The price was quite reasonable for this area. Refund of my deposit arrived promptly (within a week or so).
